This smile you see,
Is made of broken hearts,
Of broken hopes,
Of broken promises.
This laugh you hear,
That rings loud and true,
Came from a chest that's been stabbed,
Both in the back and heart.
If you hurt me,
If you leave a scar,
I will simply smile,
And skip away.
I bet your wondering,
Why?!
What sort of sicko would laugh at pain,
Smile in the face of misery?
The sort of person who would do that,
Is a strong one.
One who believes that happiness can,
And will be found.
This person,
Let's hope fill their wounds,
Let's their smile be a sign of forgiveness,
For what you have done,
And a sign,
That there is better to come.
Smile in the face of pain,
And you'll never be hurt again.
Laugh in the face of hurt and anger,
And you will never cry again.
I smile a smile birthed from pain,
I laugh a laugh convieved from anger,
I skip a skip thrown from hurt,
And I do all of this,
To show that I still have the greatest weapon of all.
I have something that will live forever,
Out living both happiness,
And pain.
I have,
Hope.
